Columbus AMA Events

The Columbus AMA offers a rich and diverse programming schedule.  With a focus on networking and in-depth content, any Columbus AMA member can benefit from the many offerings.

The AMA’s showcase event is its monthly luncheon which is designed to appeal to a broad audience with diverse backgrounds.  Attending a luncheon is an excellent way to mix with marketing, business and entrepreneurial thought leaders from the central Ohio community while staying on-trend with hot topics.  Luncheons are held the second Tuesday of each month.

Less constructed than the luncheon format, Java Talks and Firsty Thursdays round out the monthly networking offerings.  Great for those who can’t leave the office during the day, this is an ideal way to mix and mingle in a casual environment.  Firsty Thursdays are a happy hour that gets AMA members (and non-members alike) “out ‘n about” at favorite Columbus establishments after work.

Java Talks provide an opportunity to further discuss SIG and Luncheon topics or explore the value and opportunities that come with your membership.  Java Talks usually take place on the third Wednesdays or Fridays of each month.  Check the calendar of events for the rotating locations.

Both Firsty Thursdays and Java Talks are free of charge and open to anyone.  RSVPs are helpful, though, so we know how much food to provide.

The Achievement in Marketing (AIM) awards are held annually and recognize central Ohio’s best campaigns and marketing efforts.  This year’s awards will be held the evening of November 15th, 2011 at the Ohio Union.  The keynote speaker, Allie Sullivan – head of Social Media for Playboy Enterprises, Inc. - will be joining us from Chicago.  AIM Submissions will be accepted beginning September 13, 2011 via [this web page].

Professional development is always a focus of the Columbus AMA.  Keep an eye out for announcements on seminars, skill-building opportunities and more.

With the Columbus, there’s something of value for everyone.  Come join us and build relationships with like-minded people!
